Bradley Stoke Way - Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles

South Gloucestershire Council - 19th July 2016

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of Bradley Stoke Way which extends from its junction with A38 Gloucester Road to its Junctions with Pear Tree Road and Brook Way.

22nd July 2016: Statement from Jim Aitken, Public Liaison Officer, Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd, West of England Projects

Just to allay any fears, we stress that this is only going to be overnight closures for final surfacing. It will not affect peak times and further signage will be put out advising of final dates and times (which will amount to several nights work within the 15 week period). The recent legal notice published by South Gloucestershire Council does not fully explain this.

This order is required in connection with works to resurface the carriageway and will be operative from the 19 September 2016 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 15 WEEKS duration.
